‘Hof ter Vrijlegem’ is happy to welcome you. This farm has been owned by the Saerens family since four generations. We run our farm hotel ‘Hof ter Vrijlegem***’ in an atmosphere of familial hospitality.

Vrijlegem is a hamlet of Mollem, a rural borough being itself part of Asse, situated at the edge of the Pajottenland.

The name ‘Vrijlegem’ has been derived from the Germanic FRIGILINGAHAIM, which means ‘dwelling of Frigilo’s people’. We herein recognise the name of Frilo, pet name for Frijo, which means ‘free man’. So, Vrijlegem was a collective agricultural settlement of Frilo and his people, living on a country estate with a number of families. .
