Only 8 kilometres from Vienna, yet in the midst of the Vienna Forest, lies the Tulbingerkogel mountain. Even Adalbert Stifter - the great Austrian master of poetic realism - appreciated the observation tower on Tulbingerkogel, from where he saw the windows of the Göttweig Abbey glisten more than 100 years ago.
Around 1930, a mountain hotel for high society guests was built on the gentle slope, and passed into the possession of the Bläuel family in the year 1951. In the course of the decades, the Bläuel family have succeeded in turning the small mountain hotel into a country-style resort with an acclaimed restaurant, renowned beyond the borders of Austria.
